The Intersection of Mission Impossible & The Lord of The Kings

You’re the lead in Mission Impossible, the little big guy in Lord of The Rings and a amalgamation of every hero or heroine you love. You’ve been told that the answer to your story is at an intersection of an extremely large city. But you don’t know which one. It’s a maze out there.

There are millions of people in this city and you begin asking opinion leaders, the man on the street and even some questionable characters as to the whereabouts of this intersection.

You get so many answers. You suspect some of the folks are actually trying to throw you off. Some seem sincere, but not very knowledgable. Others appear confident.

Some give you directions by heart while others draw out a specific map of do’s and don’ts and rights and wrongs…and lefts.

Whom do you trust?

That’s what the walk of faith is like and it’s only natural to want answers for our bigger-than-life questions. “Why am I here?” “Where can I serve to have the most impact?” “Why was I given specific talents, resources or whatever?” “How much time do I have left?”

It may seem like a mission impossible, but it’s not. The Lord of The Kings would not create a story for the express purpose of frustrating us.

Like finding your way to any uncertain or even cryptic destination, we can only get there one street, landmark and turn at a time. Gridlock, one way streets, double-parkers, an elderly woman crossing the road and construction are all part of our travels.

That’s when we remember the old saying, “One prayer at a time - that’s how we find our way.”

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: Our prayer routes suggest something about our souls. If our overriding petition would be that our heart might intersect with heart of The Lord of The Kings, we will find ourselves on a mission that’s very possible.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also…We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

Matthew 6:21(NIV), Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)
