Heaven Holds No Grudges
The New Year gets you thinking funny things. Like death.
Death is life for the believer and brings to mind the greatest “new” thing I can think of: forgiveness. It will be the most amazing experience…to not have to forgive or be forgiven by someone.
Heaven will hold no grudges. There will be no wrongs or slights. There are no prisons in heaven. No manipulative apologies.
So why not start now? Sure, it’s a little ahead of time. But then again, we never know when our ticket will be punched.
The great thing about the New Year is that it really gets us thinking about what could be different. Many think about losing a few inches off our waist.
Can you imaging losing pounds off your conscience? Seriously, you won’t be ticked off at a soul in heaven. Why not make the break now?
Actually, this is all scriptural and it’s right out of the ultimate prayer-portal, “The Lord’s Prayer,” which commands us to forgive one another. There’s even a caveat about our relationship with God in that if we don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive us.
"The Lord’s Prayer" reduces heaven’s culture to a few things. Freedom is one of its biggest characteristics.
Without guilt or guile, it will be like one continuous New Year’s bash.
PORTAL TO HEAVEN: If heaven is free of hurts, blame and finger-pointing, what keeps us from experiencing that portal right now? Is it stubbornness? Oh, God, free us from unforgiveness and let us walk in the freedom of being forgiven all through the year.
He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’…Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy…Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
