The Reign of Mothers

The idiom that "April showers bring May flowers" may well explain why Mother's Day is celebrated in May.

Rain is the metaphor for the tears of moms on behalf of their children; sometimes before God and sometimes simply before bedtime.

But don't mothers hang in there through thick and thin? Eventually, those tears soften children's souls that like a garden spring up to bring glory to God.

So, it's only right that their reign through rain crowns them with the coveted title, "Mother."

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: One of the most obvious portals to heaven is that of your mother. Could this be why more phone calls are made on Mother's Day than on any other day of the year?

'I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.'[Hannah said]. 'In that case,' Eli said, 'go in peace! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him'...parents are the pride of their children...Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb! Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers...Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. 1 Samuel 1:16 NLT, Proverbs 17:6 NIV, Proverbs 31:1,31
