The Very Work of God: Us

PHOTO: Curls, thumb sucking, hugs...learning about God's heart for us and all of work that comes with it.

While God’s design of the procreation process surely has its pleasures and would hardly be considered “work” (by most men, anyhow), the attraction to early romance is a lot like The Marines’ recruiting table at a college campus just before a conflict in the Middle East.

That may be a bit hyperbolic, but how can anyone truly know what they are signing up for when it comes to marriage?

For those fortunate enough to have children, that question bears repeating: “How can anyone know what they’ve signed up for?”

The secret to marriage is work. If you don’t mind giving your life over to the service of others, you’ll have a solid marriage.

And what is the reward? Usually, it’s children.

Before you had a child, you couldn’t have imagined what the child would be like. You go from having no inkling as to what being a parent would be like to hardly remembering what life was like “B.C.” (Before Children.)

Procreation methods may have their shorter pleasures, but the work of marriage pays eternal interest.

P.S. Happy Birthday, Angelique!

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: The realities of giving yourself to someone else and having the fruit of that being another life is a profound portal to the very heart of God planting Himself in The Garden of Eden…and in every garden since that calls itself “home.”

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him…live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…Christ in you, the hope of glory.
