One of the most common examples of something or someone unfolding is that of the development of a child.
I’ve got to witness this in children and grandchildren and it is to be compared to a flower that keeps you on the edge of your seat as it literally unfolds before your very eyes.
There are personality profiles that adults take to discover their natural orientations and strengths. But it is said that you can actually observe some of these in a baby’s crib. Some kids have a determination to crawl to the railing and stand up and even try to climb out. Other children are more docile and love to lay there and observe dangling stars or stare at their teddy bears.
Once a child begins to romp and play and get into sports and activities, we see their personalities and abilities begin to unfold in the context of some community, team or classroom. Their actions contrast with other kids’ talents and you begin to observe how they will find a place in their world.
The development of a child is a bird’s eye view of Father God’s heart toward us. And yes, he cries and claps at everything from foibles to graduations and weddings and funerals and everything in between.
PORTAL TO HEAVEN: When we observe the unfolding of a child, especially if they are from our seed, we borrow from a divine perspective and it should affect the way we encourage and guide.
Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants, and our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace…A person's gift opens doors for him and brings him before the great…Now the boy Samuel was growing in stature and in favor both with the LORD and with men…And the child [John] continued to grow and to become strong in spirit, and he lived in the deserts until the day of his public appearance to Israel…And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

It is hard for us to enjoy without seeking to hold onto that which we are enjoying-to bad we don’t enjoy God more! We can have Him forever!
