The First Black Friday

Nobody was pushing to get in on this particular Black Friday. In fact, the trampling was by people running away.

 

It couldn’t get any blacker. The day turned into night and the night turned into day.

 

It might as well have been today’s Black Friday because nothing has changed. All the traffic seems to be heading down the wrong side of the freeway at 70-plus.

 

As students of history, we view Good Friday as good. But the folks closest to Jesus couldn’t see anything good about it and the leaders feared being barred from the synagogue.

 

Let’s see: those closest to Jesus and the religious weren’t buying anything on that Black Friday.
